Wrapping up the year

The main lesson we learned this year is that:

time is precious

And that, if we are honest:

most of the things that take up your time are not really worth your time

We want to take a moment to encourage you to celebrate another year of being brave, having fun and making an impact. We hope you take some time this festive season to look back on all your wins – no matter the size.

Leaving here some ramp-down actions for you to pick and choose from, to wrap up the year on a high:

Watch

The most often missed ingredient in making new year resolutions become a habit is… going too big. Learn the trigger for making sure that new (tiny) habits stick.

Read

The Improve Salesforce Development & Delivery article is the entry that got most attention this year. Read it to check the key items you can start measuring with your team starting the new year.

Listen

To the voices and opinions of those you love.

🎙️ Also recommending the ‘Off Menu podcast’: https://www.offmenupodcast.co.uk/. It’s about food and comedy – two of the few great things which truly are worth spending your precious time on.

Do

We must transition from a saving mindset to an investing mindset.

Over the last 40 years (speak for yourself, Mike – Ed.), our parents have told us that the key to financial freedom is saving; save to get on the property ladder, pay into a pension, keep saving, and you will be rewarded by owning your own house and retiring with money.

The world has changed dramatically since the pandemic, but the reality is it’s been changing for a while now, and the pandemic just accelerated it.

We now must invest in ourselves more to discover new knowledge and grow new ideas. Some ideas to get you started: clean energy and sustainable living; robots and AI; cryptocurrencies; DeFi; NFTs; and the Metaverse. Sounds crazy? I bet these will be the new norms by the end of the next decade.

There you go, you know what you need to do.

Also recommending ‘Whiteboard Crypto Channel’: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCsYYksPHiGqXHPoHI-fm5sg – nice easy to watch videos which even your parents can understand.

Most importantly, tell us: how’s the year been for you? What things have become more apparent for you throughout 2021? What has surfaced as important? What’s one piece of advice from your learnings? And what is your hope for the year ahead?

Wishing you a happy new year,

Team SalesforceWeek
