Where to Find Us at Dreamforce

dreamforce2015

If you’re subscribed to this blog, or one of our regular readers, you might well have wondered why we’ve gone a bit quiet lately. The truth is there are a number of reasons.

One of which is that we’ve been working on a new brand for the site that we’re hoping to launch in time for Dreamforce. And another big reason is Dreamforce itself. This year we were brave enough to put some presentation ideas forward and lucky enough to have them accepted. So we’ve been locking ourselves away working on ideas, content and materials for those sessions. And if you’re fortunate enough to be joining us for the big event in San Francisco this September, then we wanted you to know where you can catch us.

If you’ve read much of our blog between last year’s Dreamforce event and now, you’ll know that over the last 9-12 months we’ve had somewhat of a focus on two huge automation features: Process Builder and Visual Workflow. These are two very hot topics in the community at the moment, so it is probably no surprise to learn that our Dreamforce appearances this year have those at their heart.

So here is a little more information on where you can find us and what to expect.

Get Admin Superpowers with Process Builder and Flow – Breakout Session

This is your traditional Dreamforce breakout-style session. Just simply Chris and Mike in a room talking about some of the new superpowers granted to admins by Process Builder and Visual Workflow. Except the room for this presentation is a cinema – so come along for the free popcorn!

We’ll talk you through what each of the tools does and move on to discussing some interesting use cases that can now be solved with clicks alone. Come along to learn how we can create records, update more records, automate posting to Chatter and submitting records for approval, build rich user interface processes and hook the two tools together to satisfy some complex requirements – now all possible without a single line of code.

We’re delighted to share that this session has been selected as an Expert Pick for the admin track. We hope that means it will be a popular one – so do bookmark and enroll for the session early. What we know that it means for sure is that we need to get practising!

Date/Time: Tuesday, September 15, 2:30pm – 3:10pm

Location: Century Theaters, Westfield Mall, Century Theater 2

Learn to Crawl, Walk and Run with Process Builder – Hands-On Training

The Hands-On Training lessons, or HOTs, at Dreamforce are always among the most anticipated and best attended sessions. These are your opportunity to get hands-on with a tool or feature you’d like to know more about, by following along with an instructor and trying out some exercises for yourself.

In our session, we’ll be helping people of all levels of experience and ability to get up to speed on the capabilities of Process Builder, going from getting to know what the tool is and how it can help us automate some simple actions, right the way through some of its core abilities and even onto some advanced use cases that will inspire you to use Process Builder to push your automation ever further.

This is a super-exciting session for us because not only will Chris and Mike be on-stage but we are honoured to be joined by the Process Builder blogging legend that is Rakesh Gupta!

Date/Time: Wednesday, September 16, 10:30am – 11:30am

Location: Hilton San Francisco Union Square Hotel, Plaza A-B

…And a Bonus Post-Dreamforce Talk for Good Measure

While we’re discussing presentations, here is a quick add-on for anyone who’ll be in Europe in the weeks after Dreamforce.

Chris is thrilled to have been invited to speak at the October meetup of the Barcelona Developer User Group. In keeping with the other presentations we’re delivering this time of year, the core content of the talk will be around Process Builder, but this time we’ll be looking at it from the developers’ point of view by discussing which kind of use cases no longer need code to be written, tested, deployed and maintained.

Date/Time: Friday, October 2, 7:00pm – 8:30pm

Location: Clapps Iberia, Carrer dels Almogàvers 165, Barcelona

We very much hope you can join us at one or more of these sessions, whether that’s in person or catching up on-demand after the event. If you are going to be in Dreamforce yourself, then do come along and say hello to us. We always love having real chats with real people – it would be great to learn more about the Salesforce users on the other end of these blogs. See you there!
