Great news for Salesforce Admins in London and across the UK – a new user group is being launched just for you! Here we give you the inside story on the group’s aims and what’s in store for the first meetup on Thursday 2nd October…
The brainchild of Desynit’s Matthew Morris, the new London Salesforce Admins group is for those of us who spend our days working in the Salesforce setup menu to configure, customise and extend the functionality of Salesforce business applications. Whether we’re admins for end users, external consultants or business analysts, and whether we’re seasoned professionals or relative newcomers to Salesforce, we all want to keep up to date with this continually-evolving platform to ensure we can learn from shared experiences.
London already has a strong Salesforce community centred around developers and wider business stakeholders, and the aim of this group is to specifically serve the needs of Salesforce admins by providing them with a forum in which they can build new relationships, learn about upcoming or less well known features of the platform and see hands-on examples of Salesforce configuration tips and techniques.
Organised and co-hosted by Matthew, Salesforce MVP Francis Pindar and Salesforceweek.ly’s Mike Gill and Chris Edwards, the ‘Awesome Admin’ group will meet monthly on the first Thursday of the month. The first session, at 6pm on 2nd October at Dotmailer’s offices at No 1 London Bridge, will focus on the upcoming Winter ’15 release, and you can expect to hear about not just the marquee features of the release but also some hidden gems we’ve unearthed from the release notes.
The meetup is also intended to be heavily interactive, so you’ll get the chance to put questions to MVPs and community leaders at the ‘Aha! Bar’, and will even have the opportunity to take the mic yourself to pitch a presentation suggestion, give thanks, or spread the word about a deserving idea or venture.
If you’d like to get even more involved, the organisers are currently looking for community members to join as co-hosts, so if the idea of actively contributing to the meetup appeals to you, please contact Chris Edwards.

(And even if you can’t make it this time, we’d love your input on what content you’d like to see in future events – please post a comment on the Meetup site or as a reply below.)
